Rainbow International® Parent Company, The Dwyer Group, Inc., Announces 2012 Donations in Support of RMHC®

March 28th, 2013 by Rainbow International

For the fourth consecutive year, the franchise companies of The Dwyer Group, Inc. have committed $100,000 to its “Charity of Choice,” Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®).

In addition to donating $100,000 to the Charity in 2012, the companies’ franchises donated more than $150,000 through in-kind donations at Ronald McDonald Houses across North America.

“Being in the home services industry, our brands are a natural fit for RMHC because we can provide the in-kind services their Ronald McDonald Houses need to stay in good working condition,” said Dina Dwyer-Owens, CEO and chairwoman of The Dwyer Group. “We feel this has been the perfect relationship with a charity, and we look forward to another year of helping RMHC provide stability and vital resources to families so they can get and keep their children healthy and happy.”

The Dwyer Group, Inc., is a holding company of the seven franchise businesses Aire Serv®, Glass Doctor®, The Grounds Guys®, Mr. Appliance®, Mr. Electric®, Mr. Rooter® and Rainbow International®.

RMHC was established in memory of McDonald’s founder and franchise icon Ray Kroc, a strong advocate for children, in 1984. The cornerstone program, the Ronald McDonald House®, provides a “home-away-from-home” so families can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost. .

“The families that RMHC supports derive strength from each other, volunteers, staff and corporate donors like The Dwyer Group,” said Timothy Kennedy, Sr. Director of Development, RMHC. “On behalf of the more than 12, 000 children and families we serve every day through RMHC family-centered programs, I thank The Dwyer Group for this amazing commitment to our families.”

Funded by corporate donors and individual support, the charity’s 324 Houses are located in 32 countries around the world.

“The Dwyer Group’s generosity and donation of goods, services and cash will go to support core programs, like the Ronald McDonald House which empowers families while facing the illness of a child,” Kennedy said. “Our programs allow families to focus on what’s most important, their child.”

Rainbow International of Sacramento Supports RMHC With TLC

September 27th, 2012 by Rainbow International

Rainbow International® of Sacramento came out to the Ronald McDonald House® of Sacramento to help clean the rooms and furniture for families residing there.

The Ronald McDonald House provides a temporary “home-away-from-home” for families who have children age 0-18 being treated in one of the five Sacramento-area hospitals. Since 1998, the 20-bedroom facility has provided comfort, care, love and support for approximately 13,000 families.

The global office of Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) supports RMHC Chapters through grants, as well as in-kind goods and services. However, each Chapter relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses in its own community to provide additional funds, goods and services in order to operate its programs.

“We had a day of upholstery cleaning in the lobby, offices and all of the living areas.  Our technicians Blake and Anthony cleaned all the sofas, loveseats and chairs, leaving all of the furniture clean and fresh for the precious kids and their families,” said Robin Schecker, Customer Service Representative at Rainbow International.

“The services Rainbow International provided were absolutely amazing. They did a terrific job. Our furniture hadn’t been cleaned in a long time and now it looks and smells great,” said Lois Polaschek, Ronald McDonald House manager.

Rainbow International of Columbia, SC. Teams Up With RMHC

April 10th, 2012 by Rainbow International

Reed Mattingly, owner of Rainbow International of Columbia, SC. decided to make a difference in his local community. The 4th Annual Spring Cleaning, benefiting Ronald McDonald House of Columbia, was held on March 9, 2012.

Rainbow International was one of several local businesses that came together to clean, repair and perform maintenance on the 29 year-old house. Ronald McDonald staff members say the support allows the charity to focus on providing a safe and clean environment for the roughly 350 families who stay there each year while their children are being treated in hospitals.

Since the spring cleanup event began in 2009, it has provided in-kind services and gifts valued at $50,000.
