Dwyer Group introduces the Women in the Trades Initiative and Scholarship

May 7th, 2013 by Rainbow International

The Dwyer Group introduces the Women in the Trades initiative, focused on providing financial assistance to women entering the service trade industry. This includes home service fields, such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, home restoration, glass installation and landscaping.

“We have 1,600 franchisees representing our brands worldwide, but fewer than 7% are owned by female sole proprietors and fewer than 4% of our front-line service professionals are women,” said The Dwyer Group CEO and Chairwoman Dina Dwyer-Owens. “We are excited to open this opportunity for women interested in trade professions to further their curiosity, expertise and experience.”

The trade industry has historically been a male-dominated career path. Often, women are unaware of the potential for success and personal fulfillment, which can be achieved by working as a trade technician. Studies have shown that females in the home are often the lead decision-makers when it comes to home maintenance. This inherent familiarity with the target audience gives a female trades expert a unique industry advantage.

“Countless women have lost good jobs and we are now recruiting them as franchisees or as front-line plumbers, electricians, grounds care experts, restoration specialists and appliance, HVAC and glass installation and repair technicians within our seven home service brands,” said Dwyer-Owens. “It makes sense to offer women interested in either changing their career paths or further pursuing their career in these industries the opportunity to become the best of the best through thorough training and education.”

The Women in the Trades Scholarship is open to women 18 and older, interested in pursuing a career in the trades. Qualified candidates who are actively pursuing a degree or certification in a trade are encouraged to apply. Candidates will be evaluated based upon financial need, previous work experience and their passion for their chosen industry. For more information and to apply: http://www.dwyergroup.com/women-in-trades.asp or email WITT@dwyergroup.com.

Rainbow International Service Professionals Help Driver of Burning Car on Busy California Highway

July 14th, 2011 by Rainbow International

Pictured are Service Professionals Blake Rodriguez and Vito Perez with Rainbow International of Sacramento. Blake and Vito helped a driver whose car caught fire on a busy California highway earlier this week.

Thank you for your bravery and concern for the people of the communities we serve, guys!

Read the actual thank-you email they received below and be sure to visit the “Real Life with Rainbow International” webpage at www.rainbowintl.com/reallife

Today my engine caught fire on Highway 50. Two gentlemen in one of your trucks pulled over to help. They called 911, had a fire extinguisher ready, got me a safe distance from the car and did not leave till the fire was out and the fire department needed a statement. In the chaos and state of mind I was in I did not get their names or a truck number but I wanted someone to know just how wonderful it was to have their help and calm in that situation. I am so thankful they were there and hope that if you can determine who they were you will extend my absolute gratitude to them. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you, Rainbow International guys! Thank you for stopping, for being so kind to me and helping me to stay calm. God bless you!

Sierra O’Loughlin (Rancho Cordova, California)

Response from Rainbow International:
Dear Sierra: Thank you for your kind words! The service professionals that were able to help are Blake Rodriguez and Vito Perez with Rainbow International of Sacramento. We will certainly pass along your message to them. We’re grateful you are safe and that we were able to help. Everyone at Rainbow International works with a shared Code of Values and the first on that list is “treat others as we would like to be treated.” Take care and thank you again for sharing!

Rainbow International Now Serving Metro Indianapolis

April 29th, 2011 by Rainbow International

Helping a home or business recover from water, fire, smoke or mold damage requires the latest technology, tools and training. However, local business owner Chris McKinney knows the human touch is equally important during such a time of need.

McKinney is the owner of Rainbow International of Metro Indianapolis, a business offering water, fire, smoke and mold damage cleanup and restoration. Other services offered include carpet, grout and tile cleaning. Rainbow International serves residents and business owners in Marion and Johnson counties and the surrounding area. Cities served include Indianapolis and Greenwood.

“I’m excited to bring the Rainbow International way of offering these services to our area,” said McKinney. “We come equipped with the best training and equipment but also realize that on many damage restoration jobs, our customers experience an acute sense of loss and displacement. We are mindful of that as we work to quickly restore their home or business and, ultimately, peace of mind.”

McKinney attended an immersive learning program at Rainbow International corporate headquarters. The program teaches water, fire, smoke and mold damage cleanup restoration science and techniques.

“I believe Rainbow International brings a new best practices standard to our area,” McKinney added. “Utilizing the most advanced equipment, innovative technologies and a built-in accountability system, our professional emergency crews complete every job rapidly to assure an uncompromising commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction. Ultimately, we don’t just restore homes and businesses; we restore value, stability, and peace of mind.”

“Chris and his local team are a terrific addition to our growing network,” said Rainbow International President Rob White. “We’re excited to join the Metro Indianapolis area and look forward to serving its neighborhoods and businesses.”

Rainbow International Says Goodbye and Best Wishes to David Bethea

March 31st, 2011 by Rainbow International

David Bethea

Today is a bittersweet day at Rainbow International as we say goodbye and best wishes to long-time president David Bethea, now entering retirement. David, we thank you for your years of service, commitment and caring and wish you the very best as you head into years sure to be filled with family, friends and relaxation.

As David remarked to his friends at Rainbow International:

It is with a mix of sorrow and anticipation that I announce my retirement from Rainbow International effective March 31, 2011.

This marks the closing chapter of the working period of my life. My years with Rainbow International were a privilege and a blessing. I’ve seen our network of franchise owners and their local teams grow as we all worked towards shared goals. I’ve delighted in your successes and felt honored to stand by your side as we faced and overcame challenges. Technology, equipment and processes evolved at a dizzying rate, making things possible today that a few short years ago were unheard of. I have no doubt this evolution of our industry will continue unabated and you can count on me as an avid sideline viewer of the wonderful things ahead for Rainbow International.

I leave our team in great hands. Rob White, VP of Operations, will assume the role and responsibility of president upon my retirement. As many of you know, Rob spent years as a Rainbow International franchise owner, dealing with the same challenges and experiencing the same joys that you do. He can genuinely empathize with our network of franchise owners and is a knowledgeable resource to call on. I am excited to see him move into what I think is a natural role and know he will do great things.

To the many people I have worked with in my time here, it’s been a wonderful ride. I appreciate each and every one of you. Coming to work with the great people here made it not really feel like “coming to work” at all. When you spend those hours each day with people you admire and respect, it’s just like extended family.

Thank you all, again, for your kindness and friendship. I look forward to seeing the terrific things ahead for Rainbow International and wish you all the very best.

Respectfully,

David Bethea
