Rainbow International Celebrates Female Business Owners for Women’s History Month – Tammy Kimble Finds Success in a Male-Dominated Industry

March 15th, 2013 by Rainbow International

One hundred years ago, more than 5,000 women marched on Washington, D.C. to bring attention to the gross misrepresentation of women in our society. Today, women are heralded as the leaders of tomorrow in education, business and politics. Rainbow International celebrates March and Women’s History Month by recognizing Tammy Kimble, owner of Rainbow International of Alamance County.

Kimble has been the proud owner of Rainbow International for nearly five years, achieving both personal and professional goals. “I think every business you go into is about how you build it and the relationships you build in the process. Every business is about the communication with customers and how you represent the business. Once you start listening to your customer or client, you’ll connect with them.”

Kimble has worked in multiple areas of business, from owning a carpet cleaning business to owning a daycare center. Kimble is an entrepreneur.

“Tammy is a rising star,” Rainbow International President Rob White said. “No matter the situation, she has risen to the challenge. We are proud to have her on our team.”

Women, like Kimble, who have embraced the opportunities afforded them and overcome the obstacles, are paving the path for future generations of women to proudly walk.

“Something I would share with young ladies trying to find their way in this industry is to take on everything you can,” Kimble said. “Learn. Get in every open door you can. Take everything with you into your next experience.”

Slim and Trim for 2013: Healthy Recipes that Taste Good

January 4th, 2013 by Rainbow International

It’s the New Year and many of us have vowed to eat better, and I for one am getting serious about dropping a few pounds. My wedding is quickly approaching and I’ve got less than two weeks to squeeze into a dress, and an even more frightening feat… a swimsuit.

When I’ve been on diets in the past, the biggest problem for me was having to eat foods that just didn’t taste good! So, my goal for 2013 is to not eat like a little bird, but to eat healthier and find foods that will satisfy me and not leave my tummy growling. Because I’m sure you agree that when you feel hungry you are more likely to cheat on your diet.

Join me and try a few of these recipes below and let’s get healthy together!

Try this yummy Turkey and Tomato Panini from Eatingwell.com. This recipe is only 285 calories and after adding baby spinach, goat cheese and tomato dressing, spinach, a side and a fruit rounds out to under 500 calories!

Who doesn’t love a cheesy casserole without the guilt? Try this 327 calorie per serving Broccoli and Rice Casserole from CookingLight.com.

My favorite soup without the fat! Warm up with this French Three-Onion Soup from FoodNetwork.com.

You won’t even miss the meat when trying out this Vegetarian Taco Salad. One serving totals around 400 calories. From Delish.com.

“Hey Mom, Are We There Yet?”

December 22nd, 2012 by Rainbow International

Holiday travels are still upon us  and my three kiddos are super excited to see family, but not looking forward to the long road trip ahead. Anyone who has ever been on a road trip with a small child knows how difficult traveling with them can be.

The never ending chorus ringing from the backseat in 10 mile intervals (if you’re lucky) of “Are we there yet?” drones for the entirety of your passage. Unfortunately, young kids don’t always understand the concept of time, nor least of all, travel.

DIY Home Sweet Home has this great idea to help children calculate their distance and prevent those awful four words.

When her family embarked on a 16-hour road trip, she printed and colored a car that looked like theirs, attached it to a ribbon tied between the hooks and drew 16 tick marks to represent each hour of the trip. As their car progressed, so did they girls’ and as they had a clear visual never had to ask if they were there yet.

Check out her blog for more great ideas for traveling with kids and the other games and snacks she used for this roadtrip!

Wishing you and your family a safe and peaceful holiday!

Rainbow International® Celebrates National Women’s Small Business Month

October 16th, 2012 by Rainbow International

October has been labeled National Women in Small Businesses Month by the Small Business Administration. This is a time to celebrate and bring awareness to the opportunities for women in the business world, and we aim to do just that.

Most women don’t know the great success and personal fulfillment that they can experience working as technicians in trade businesses or how opening a franchise business specializing in a trade can lead to viable, respectable career paths.

Dina Dwyer-Owens, CEO of The Dwyer Group® has launched the Women in the Trades initiative, which both educates on and promotes the hiring of women for traditionally male-dominated roles in trades careers as well as provides scholarships to women working within the trades currently to help them achieve the required credentials for their chosen service field.

With franchise opportunities available in markets all across the country, the time is now for women displaced by the economy or those looking at their next business investment to seek out information about The Dwyer Group franchise businesses.

The Dwyer Group is a company known the world over for its franchise brands: Aire Serv®, Glass Doctor®, Mr. Appliance®, Mr. Electric®, Mr. Rooter®, Rainbow International® and The Grounds Guys®. Among the seven brand’s 1,600 franchise locations, about 2 million residential and commercial service calls are made each year.

Rainbow International and Waco Fire Station #11 Promote National Fire Prevention Week

October 12th, 2012 by Rainbow International

The job of a firefighter is very serious and often hazardous. Everyday firefighters put their lives on the line to keep their communities safe. In honor of Fire Prevention Month we took a trip to our local fire station to bring cupcakes, check out the station and let the firefighters know just how much we really appreciate them.

After visiting we realized just how awesome our firefighters truly are. They make sacrifices to protect our homes and families, and provide emergency services without a second thought. These acts of courage and compassion should not go unnoticed! Support your local fire station and the brave men and women who prevent and lessen the impact of tragedies from happening in the future.

Thank you to our local firefighters and all of those around the world who keep us safe!
